Chair Mr Tony Quick was the independent non-executive Chair of Quickstep Holdings Ltd from 2013 to 2020. Mr Quick was the director of the Enterprise Connect Defence Industry Innovation Centre 2009 to 2011, director and general manager of GKN Aerospace Engineering Services from 2001 to 2009.
Dr John Best
Dr John Best currently holds the position of Vice President, Chief Technical Officer at Thales Australia. Dr Best joined ADI Limited in 2003 and was appointed CTO upon the formation of Thales Australia in 2006. In this role he is responsible for the technical capability of the company, including technical strategy, research and development, innovation, engineering practice and governance. The move to ADI Limited followed a 15-year career with DSTO (now known as DST Group). Dr Best is a Member of the DMTC Limited Audit, Risk and Remuneration Committee. Dr Best is also President of the Australian Innovation Research Group.
Ms Patricia Kelly PSM
Patricia Kelly was Director-General of IP Australia from 2013-2018. Prior to joining IP Australia, Ms Kelly was a Deputy Secretary in Commonwealth departments responsible for industry and innovation from 2004 - 2013. Ms Kelly is Chair of the Council Preparatory Task Force for the international Square Kilometre Array Organisation and a member of the Council of the University of Canberra. Ms Kelly is also a member of the CSIRO Manufacturing Business Unit Advisory Committee and Chair of the Australian Research Integrity Committee. Ms Kelly has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in communication and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mr Michael Grogan
Michael Grogan is a former CEO of Sutton Tools Pty Ltd, an Engineering Manufacturer producing and exporting a full range of cutting tools from three Australian facilities and one New Zealand facility. Mr Grogan was appointed as Victorian Director of the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre in May 2016. Mr Grogan is a Board Member of Manufacturing Skills Australia, Board Member of the Adult, Community and Further Education organisation, Advisory Board Member of the Victorian Manufacturing Skills and Training Taskforce and Advisory Board Member of the Manufacturing Industry Reference Committee (IRC). Mr Grogan is also Deputy Chair of the Sustainability IRC. Mr Grogan is a Member of the DMTC Limited Audit, Risk and Remuneration Committee.
Air Marshal (Ret) John Harvey AM
Air Marshal (Ret) John Harvey AM's Australian Defence Force career spanned more than 30 years, highlighted by senior roles managing Australia’s F-35 acquisition and later serving as Chief Capability Development Group. In the Australia Day Honours of 2008 he was appointed Member of the Order of Australia (Military Division). Since retiring from the RAAF in 2012, Dr Harvey has completed a PhD in Computer Science at the UNSW (Canberra), has undertaken Reserve work supporting Australian industry and review tasks for the Chief of the Defence Force. In 2016 Dr Harvey was appointed to the role of Defence Advocate by the NSW Government. Dr Harvey is the Director of JPH Services Pty Ltd which provides consulting support to Defence-related Industry and Government. Dr Harvey is also a member of the AusMURI Advisory Board.
Professor Valerie Linton
Professor Valerie Linton is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at the University of Wollongong. Professor Linton’s specific expertise includes steel metallurgy and welding, along with strategic planning, business development and engineering research management. A fellow of Engineers Australia, Professor Linton completed undergraduate studies at the University of Sheffield (UK), PhD studies at Cambridge University (UK) and holds a Masters in Business Administration from La Trobe University. Professor Linton is Deputy Chair of the CRC Association Board and until September 2016 was the CEO of the Energy Pipelines Cooperative Research Centre. Professor Linton is also a Director of Future Food Systems CRC and Director of Baosteel Australia Joint Research and Development Centre.
Mr Marc Peskett
Marc Peskett has extensive management and Board experience in accounting, management consulting and as a venture capitalist. Marc held senior positions with Arthur Andersen and William Buck & Company before founding the MPR Group in 1997. MPR Group is a leading accounting firm, servicing local and international biotech companies. Marc is a director on a number of boards in the biotech and retail sectors, is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Tax Institute of Australia.
